The Compton
Named for Dr. Neil Compton — the conservationist and Bentonville physician who led the effort to designate the Buffalo River as the first National River — this 142-room independent lifestyle hotel sits on Bentonville's historic downtown square as a tribute to the outdoor culture and natural landscape that define this corner of the Ozarks. Developed by Blue Crane, adjacent to Dave Peel Park and a new pedestrian promenade linking downtown to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Food and beverage operated by Indigo Road: Field Notes, an all-day café with patio dining; Sestina, an Arkansas steakhouse with weekend brunch; and a second-level cocktail bar overlooking the square. The hotel is operated by Practice Hospitality and includes 3,750 SF of meeting and event space anchored by a grand ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows. Cycling amenities include bike valet, wash station, and secure storage — a nod to Bentonville's standing as the Mountain Biking Capital of the World. Named to Travel + Leisure's It List 2026 as one of the 100 Best New Hotels of the Year. Interiors by Créme Design, architecture by Marvel and BRR Architecture.
